Roper Good Neighbor Fund

Encouraging families
to stay strong, educated,
healthy, and whole.

A Close Look at the Numbers

Since 2017, the Roper Good Neighbor Fund has helped over 30 families with an average of $200 each for emergencies and unanticipated expenses. When you donate to this fund, 95% of your donations go directly to Roper families in need.

What We Do

Every year, students and families at Roper Elementary face hardships which make school, work, and home life difficult. With community support, they are able to recover and keep their families healthy and whole.

Through the Roper Good Neighbor Fund, all community members are given the opportunity to lend a helping hand to Roper Elementary staff, students, and families in crisis. It is one of many funds held by the Foundation for LPS. When other community resources fall short, this fund can be used to support Roper families facing difficult circumstances.

Ways we help Roper Rockets

  • Covering car repairs so students have a safe ride to school
  • Purchasing clothes and shoes for families in emergencies
  • Helping with utility payments to keep families protected
  • Paying emergency housing costs or rent in crisis situations
  • Keeping Roper's Personal Care Pantry stocked each semester
  • Helping with other unaffordable urgent needs

How to Help

The BEST way you can help your neighbors in difficult circumstances is to donate to the Roper Good Neighbor Fund through the Foundation for LPS.

Help My Neighbors

There are a number of fun ways you can contribute throughout the year:

  1. Student-led initiatives

In 2021 Roper Ambassadors helped raise over $2000 through a school-wide coin drive.

  2. Apparel Sales

The annual Roper PTO apparel sale often includes a unique option which goes to benefit the Good Neighbor Fund.

  3. Holiday Fundraisers

Keep your eyes peeled during the holiday season. We offer donation opportunities like festive plant or wreath sales.
